The Oxbow Foundation dedicated itself to the betterment of education in 2024. Grants were made to the University of Iowa, the University of North Dakota, and once again reinstated the SkyWater Scholarship Fund. Amanda Daniel, SkyWater’s chief people officer, states:
“The scholarships awarded by the Foundation will help students realize their academic dreams by making their education more accessible, leading to promising career opportunities. It also contributes to the on-going effort of industry to work with institutions in support of domestic workforce development. In particular, STEM education is central to the revitalization of the U.S. semiconductor industry, and we are committed to working with local and national communities to develop the critical talent needed for the future.”
With the University of Iowa, the Oxbow Foundation also gave further into their Stead Family Hospital and their amazing dog program.
These dogs have become essential workers in the healthcare system at Iowa. They provide:
-
Encouragement especially through recovery in both physical therapy and post-surgery.
-
Decreasing anxiety before a procedure or surgery and even demonstrating with patients what’s it’s like to have anesthesia or imaging scans.
-
They help patients learn how to take medicine from a spoon, syringe, or a medicine cup. Find out more through this link (https://uihc.org/childrens/news/meet-facility-dogs-university-iowa-stead-family-childrens-hospital)
In 2024, the board members of the Oxbow Foundation attended events for Best Christmas Ever (BCE) and the Constellation Fund where they learned more about how these foundations excel in helping families in times of need.
In 2025, the Oxbow Foundation will once again and proudly work with the Constellation Fund, the University of Iowa, and SkyWater while exploring new partnerships.
